If the washingmachine is sold, transferred or moved, makesure that the instruction manual remains withthe machine so that the new owner is able tofamiliarise himself/herself with its operationand features.!Read these instructions carefully: theycontain vital information relating to the safeinstallation and operation of the appliance.compensate for any unevenness by tighteningor loosening the adjustable front feet (seefigure);the angle of inclination, measured inrelation to the worktop, must not exceed 2°.Levelling the machine correctly will provideit with stability, help to avoid vibrations andexcessive noise and prevent it from shiftingwhile it is operating. If it is placed on carpet ora rug, adjust the feet in such a way as to allowa sufficient ventilation space underneath thewashing machine.Unpacking and levellingUnpacking1. Remove the washing machine from itspackaging.2. Make sure that the washing machine hasnot been damaged during the transportationprocess. If it has been damaged, contact theretailer and do not proceed any further withthe installation process.3. Remove the 4protective screws(used duringtransportation)and the rubberwasher with thecorrespondingspacer, located onthe rear part of theappliance (seefigure).4. Close off the holes using the plastic plugsprovided.5. Keep all the parts in a safe place: you willneed them again if the washing machineneeds to be moved to another location.!Packaging materials should not be used astoys for children.Levelling1. Install the washingmachine on a flatsturdy floor, withoutresting it up againstwalls, furniturecabinets or anythingelse.2. If the floor isnot perfectly level,2Connecting the electricity andwater suppliesConnecting the water inlet hose1. Insert seal A intothe end of the inlethose and screw thelatter onto a coldwater tap with a3/4 gas threadedmouth(see figure).Before making theconnection, allow thewater to run freely untilit is perfectly clear.2. Connect theinlet hose to thewashing machine byscrewing it onto thecorresponding waterinlet of the appliance,which is situated onthe top right-handside of the rear partof the appliance(seefigure).3. Make sure that the hose is not folded overor bent.!The water pressure at the tap must fall withinthe range of values indicated in the Technicaldata table(see next page).!If the inlet hose is not long enough, contact aspecialised shop or an authorised technician.!Never use second-hand hoses.!Use the ones supplied with the machine.AConnecting the drain hoseConnect the drainhose, without bendingit, to a drain duct ora wall drain situatedbetween 65 and 100cm from the floor;65 - 100 cm!When the washing machine has beeninstalled, the electricity socket must remainwithin easy reach.!Do not use extension cords or multiplesockets.!The cable should not be bent orcompressed.!The power supply cable must only bereplaced by authorised technicians.Warning! Sometimes, small items (such ascoins or buttons) may fall into the pre-chamberwhich protects the pump, situated in its bottompart.!Make sure the wash cycle has finished andunplug the appliance.To access the pre-chamber:1. using ascrewdriver, removethe cover panel onthe lower front part ofthe washing machine(see figure);Cleaning the washing machine• The outer parts and rubber componentsof the appliance can be cleaned using a softcloth soaked in lukewarm soapy water. Do notuse solvents or abrasives.• The washing machine has a “Auto Clean”programme for its internal parts thatmust berun with no load in the drum.To help the wash cycleAyou may want to useeither the detergent(i.e. a quantity 10%the quantity specifiedfor lightly-soiledgarments) or specialadditives to clean thewashing machine. Werecommend running acleaning programme every 40 wash cycles.To start the programme press buttonsAandBsimultaneously for 5 seconds(see figure).The programme will start automatically and willrun for about 70 minutes. To stop the cyclepress the START/PAUSE button.B2. unscrew the lidby rotating it anti-clockwise(see figure):a little water maytrickle out. This isperfectly normal;Cleaning the detergent dispenserdrawer12Remove the dispenserby raising it andpulling it out(seefigure).Wash it under runningwater; this operationshould be repeatedfrequently.3. clean the inside thoroughly;4. screw the lid back on;5. reposition the panel, making sure the hooksare securely in place before you push it ontothe appliance.Checking the water inlet hoseCheck the inlet hose at least once a year. Ifthere are any cracks, it should be replacedimmediately: during the wash cycles, waterpressure is very strong and a cracked hosecould easily split open.!Never use second-hand hoses.4Precautions and tips!This washing machine was designed and constructedin accordance with international safety regulations. Thefollowing information is provided for safety reasons andmust therefore be read carefully.Opening the porthole door manuallyIn the event that it is not possible to open the portholedoor due to a powercut, and if you wish to remove thelaundry, proceed as follows:1. remove the plug from theelectrical socket.2. make sure the water levelinside the machine is lowerthan the door opening; ifit is not, remove excesswater using the drain hose,collecting it in a bucket asindicated in the figure.20GBGeneral safety• This appliance was designed for domestic use only.•This appliance can be used by childrenaged from 8 years and above andpersons with reduced physical, sensory ormental capabilities or lack of experienceand knowledge if they have been givensupervision or instruction concerning use ofthe appliance in a safe way and understandthe hazards involved. Children shall notplay with the appliance. Cleaning and usermaintenance shall not be made by childrenwithout supervision.• Do not touch the machine when barefoot or with wet ordamp hands or feet.• Do not pull on the power supply cable when unpluggingthe appliance from the electricity socket. Hold the plugand pull.• Do not open the detergent dispenser drawer while themachine is in operation.• Do not touch the drained water as it may reachextremely high temperatures.• Never force the porthole door. This could damage the safetylock mechanism designed to prevent accidental opening.• If the appliance breaks down, do not under anycircumstances access the internal mechanisms in anattempt to repair it yourself.• Always keep children well away from the appliance whileit is operating.• The door can become quite hot during the wash cycle.• If the appliance has to be moved, work in a group of twoor three people and handle it with the utmost care. Nevertry to do this alone, because the appliance is very heavy.• Before loading laundry into the washing machine, makesure the drum is empty.3. using a screwdriver,remove the cover panel onthe lower front part of thewashing machine(see figure).Disposal• Disposing of the packaging materials: observe localregulations so that the packaging may be re-used.• The European Directive 2012/19/EU on Waste Electricaland Electronic Equipment, requires that old householdelectrical appliances must not be disposed of in thenormal unsorted municipal waste stream. Old appliancesmust be collected separately in order to optimise therecovery and recycling of the materials they contain andreduce the impact on human health and the environment.The crossed out “wheeled bin” symbol on the productreminds you of your obligation, that when you dispose ofthe appliance it must be separately collected. Consumersshould contact their local authority or retailer for informationconcerning the correct disposal of their old appliance.4. pull outwards using the tab as indicated in the figure,until the plastic tie-rod is freed from its stop position; pulldownwards and open the door at the same time.5. reposition the panel, making sure the hooks are securelyin place before you push it onto the appliance.5
